Our Testing Methodology in a Nutshell
There’s a reason kids love to climb out of their strollers at the Happiest Place on Earth: It’s a total blast. But it can also be frustrating for parents, who are constantly bending over to re-seat their children, or trying to chase after a wandering toddler.
We evaluated each stroller based on how easy it was to use with a 4-year-old and how easy it was to maneuver through the park. We ran each stroller through the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, checking them at regular walking speeds, at a quick pace, and in crowds. We also checked how easy it was for our child testers to get out of the strollers and how easy it was for them to get back in when they inevitably escaped during our test runs.
We also checked how well each stroller folded up and how easy it was to get the folded stroller into and out of a car trunk.
In general, we preferred lightweight strollers that allowed kids to run and play as much as they wanted without slowing Mom or Dad down too much. We dismissed strollers that were too heavy or too bulky, like those with an air-filled plastic body or a hard plastic shell. We also dismissed any strollers that were too complicated to collapse or didn’t fit properly in the car.

A good stroller will offer plenty of padding in key areas like the seat and straps. The best options will also include a suspension system that helps cushion little legs as you roll over uneven terrain or bumpy sidewalks.
Other comfort features we looked for include a reclining seat, ample ventilation (especially important during hot-weather trips), and cup holders for both parent and child.
