The Best Double Strollers for Tall Parents
If you’re tall and you’re also trying to simultaneously push a toddler and a baby in a double stroller, you know it can be a real pain. Unfortunately, many popular double strollers aren’t well suited to tall parents, and those that are can be difficult to push and turn. We’ve found a few strollers that might ease the awkwardness, and we’ll discuss them in this article.

Our Testing Methodology in a Nutshell
To find the best strollers, we spent nearly 50 hours over the course of five weeks testing a dozen strollers. We ran each stroller through the same basic tests: how easy they were to set up, how easy they were to fold and unfold, how easy they were to steer, how comfortable they were in a variety of seating configurations, how well they fit through doorways and restaurant/store aisles, and how well they stood up to wear and tear.
To get a firsthand sense of each stroller’s capabilities, we took them on long walks through busy city streets, tight city alleys, and crowded sidewalks, as well as in and out of our favorite neighborhood coffee shops, bars, and restaurants.
To test the stroller seats, we buckled in our kids (ranging from a 21-month-old to a 36-month-old) and took them for strolls through the aforementioned environments. We had each child sit in the stroller seats with their seatbelts on (and buckled tightly) while we pushed them around the block in our usual manner: I guided the strollers with one hand while holding my coffee with the other.
When testing the seats’ comfort and adjustability, we had each child sit in the seats for about 20 minutes per configuration: flat recline, slightly reclined, upright semi-recline, upright recline (more reclined than semi-recline), and flat recline.
We also took note of any annoyances throughout these tests (for example, any straps that didn’t adjust easily or buckled improperly).
BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 Duallie Double Jogging Stroller
Product Review
The BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 Duallie is the smoothest and most stable stroller we tested, thanks to its suspension system and air-filled tires. It glides over cobblestones and gravel without jostling parents or their cargo.
The adjustable handlebar lets tall and short parents set the stroller to a comfortable height for pushing and the no-rethread harness and seat height allow for easy adjustments.
The BOB is also one of the roomiest and most versatile strollers we’ve seen, with 10 pockets, a roomy cargo basket, and a cell phone pocket on the handlebar.
Its travel-system-ready design works with most major car seat brands via an adapter (sold separately), and its two seats can accommodate a newborn and up to a 50-pound toddler (or twins). The stroller is also one of the sleekest models we tested, with a sleek fold and a slim profile that will fit easily through most doorways.
Baby Trend Expedition Double Jogger
Product Review
The Baby Trend Expedition Double Jogger is a solid stroller that should last you and your growing family for years to come. It has two extra-large canopies that offer ample coverage, and the seats recline in multiple positions.
The five-point harnesses are secure, and the stroller has a sturdy wheelbase that should be able to withstand a couple of years of regular use. And it’s easier to clean than others we tested.
The storage areas are generous, and the stroller maneuvers well in tight spaces. The only downside is that it’s a little tall for shorter people to push and steer.
Jeep Destination Ultralight Side x Side Double Stroller
Product Review
The Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland may seem like an odd choice for a stroller recommendation, but its ultralight design (and the fact that its manufacturer is known for high-quality vehicles) made it an easy pick.
The Grand Cherokee is one of the few strollers we tested that’s both lightweight (around 28 pounds) and capable of carrying a second child (up to 40 pounds). It can also accommodate taller parents (the handle is taller than most), and it’s one of the few strollers that has a large sunshade.
However, it doesn’t have the same ability to swivel on its wheels as other strollers, so it’s harder to maneuver, and the storage area is smaller. Keep in mind that this is a side-by-side stroller, which is often less convenient to use than a single stroller.
Graco Ready2Grow LX 2.0 Double Stroller
Product Review
The Graco Ready2Grow LX is a great choice for tall parents, because it folds down to a smaller footprint than other double strollers, making it easier to transport and store.
It has two stroller seats—a bench seat and a standing platform, which you can use in a variety of ways, depending on the ages and needs of your children.
The back seat is close to you, so you can easily connect with your baby on the ride. It’s compatible with all Graco infant car seats and can accept two at once, making it an excellent twin stroller option.
The stroller has two child seats, one facing forward that holds up to 50 lb and a rear-facing one that holds up to 40 lb. (The rear-facing seat must be used until your child is at least 1 year old and weighs at least 12 lb.) The stroller is on the larger side, but since it folds small, it should fit in most trunks.
Summer Infant 3Dlite Double Convenience Lightweight Double Stroller
Product Review
The 3Dlite double is the lightest stroller we tested, weighing less than 22 pounds—less than half the weight of our other picks. It also offers more features than the competition, including a roomy seat with an adjustable recline, an extra-large storage basket, and a 5-point safety harness for each passenger.
The strolling experience is smooth and the stroller folds easily and compactly, thanks to its ergonomic folding handle and auto-lock feature. This stroller also has a securely attached canopy with flip-out sun visors and a built-in cup holder.
Our testers really liked the large sun canopies on each seat and found the storage basket to be one of the easiest to access. The downside is that the 3Dlite is a little taller than other strollers on the market and doesn’t fit in most trunks.
If you have tall parents or a small car, this might not be the best choice for you.
Things to Keep in Mind Before Buying
To determine which strollers to test, we researched the available options and read customer reviews. We also spoke with experts (including pediatric physical therapists), who told us that a good double stroller should meet these criteria:
Fits Adults Of Various Sizes And Statures
A great double stroller should be long enough so that a parent of average height can still see over the top of it when pushing a child in each seat.
The average woman is 5 feet 3 inches, and the average man is 5 feet 9 inches, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. But many people are taller than average, especially men.
We considered how much headroom each model would provide for different-size testers; we looked for models that allowed ample space for taller pushers, as well as for shorter pushers who might prefer to sit slightly downhill from their children.
