Methods We Used to Analyze
We measured the strollers from the top of the canopy to the ground, and we measured each canopy from front to back and side to side, checking that they were large enough to provide sun protection.
We reclined each seat and checked the handle range of motion and how easily each stroller moved. We noted the materials used on handlebars, seats, and canopies, and we checked how easy it was to access the storage basket underneath.
We noted any additional features offered by each stroller, like cupholders, snack trays, seat ventilation, and adjustable leg rests.
For jogging strollers, we checked weight, wheel size, and wheel covers, and we jogged with them in a variety of conditions. For infant car seats, we checked harness size, ease of installation, and fit in the strollers.
We checked overall design and quality from a user perspective: How easy or difficult was it to adjust each stroller? How intuitive or frustrating was it to operate? How comfortable were the seats?
We checked for any potential safety hazards: If we couldn’t get a stroller folded properly or safely, or if a stroller had other design problems that could lead to an injury, we disqualified it from further consideration.
Of course, we also took these strollers out for walks in a variety of conditions. We took them through crowded parks and jammed them into cars on busy city blocks. We took them out in the winter with their bundled-up occupants and their various accessories.
Jeep Classic Jogging Stroller by Delta Children
Product Review
The Jeep Classic Jogging Stroller is our top pick for parents who want to jog regularly with their kids in tow. It’s sturdy, thanks to its 16” back wheels, and has a wide wheelbase for better stability.
It also has a lockable swivel wheel for easy maneuvering and a lockable front wheel for added stability when jogging. With its 12” front wheel and shock-absorbing suspension, the stroller glides smoothly over all kinds of terrain.
The Classic Jogging Stroller’s generous tray and reclining seat offer ample storage space and comfort for your kid, while the parent cup holders and storage basket let you bring all the essentials you need for a day out.
The stroller folds compactly and has a quick-release back wheel that helps you transport it easily in a car trunk. The stroller’s five-point harness keeps your child safely buckled in and has reflective piping for night jogs.
Chicco Liteway Stroller
Product Review
The Chicco Liteway is an all-around great stroller that excels at being lightweight and easy to fold, while still providing a smooth ride and several convenient features. Compared with other umbrella strollers, the Liteway is better suited for longer walks (thanks to its rear suspension and swiveling front wheels), has a more comfortable seat (with a backrest that reclines for naps), and offers more useful features (like a canopy and a parent cup holder).
The problem with most other strollers in this price range is that they’re much heavier than the Liteway and harder to fold, which makes them less practical for everyday use.
The only stroller we tested that’s lighter is the Britax Compact Lite, but it lacks the suspension and has only swivel wheels.
Jeep Unlimited Reversible Handle Stroller
Product Review
The Graco Strollaway Stroller is a great option for families on a budget who want a stroller that is compact when folded and can be used for multiple children.
The reversible handle and 50-pound weight limit accommodate most babies from birth to around two years old, and the stroller also meets Disney’s width and length requirements.
Once your child is old enough to sit upright on their own, you can remove the bassinet attachment and use the regular seat.
Baby Trend Expedition Stroller Wagon
Product Review
The most expensive stroller we reviewed, the Baby Trend Expedition Jogger Stroller Wagon was the favorite of our panel of testers, including parents and professional journalists.
It felt sturdy, had the most cargo space of any stroller we tested, plus it had the most features, including built-in seating for two children, a three-point safety harness belt, and ample storage.
It also offers the most storage of any stroller we tested, including a parent tray with two cup holders, a child tray with two cup holders, a center console with two cup holders, and two more cup holders on either side of the wagon.
It also has an extra-large, fully reclining, and lockable canopy, plus a removable, washable, and UV-shielding inner cushion.
The stroller should last you for years, too, because it’s built with sturdy materials and is difficult to chew through, unlike other wagons we tested, which could be torn apart with a screwdriver and pliers.
The Baby Trend is significantly easier to push than the other wagons we tested and has a one-handed folding mechanism. It has large, lockable, air-filled tires, and the wheels are easy to remove, too.
The brakes are large and easy to push and hold, too.
Summer 3Dlite Convenience Stroller
Product Review
This lightweight stroller is a great choice for families on the go. Its sturdy aluminum frame and shock-absorbing front wheels make it a breeze to push, and the large seat area and reclining seat offer a comfortable place to sit for growing children.
The 3Dlite folds up with one hand using the auto-lock mechanism, and the carry strap makes it easy to carry. The removable canopy and the flip-out sun visor will keep your kid shaded and sun-safe, and the storage basket, pocket, and cup holder provide a place to stash snacks, toys, and a drink.
But it’s on the small side, so don’t overload the basket (it should be no more than 10 pounds). We also recommend that you avoid bringing it up and down stairs.
Don’t Buy Before Considering These Factors
We researched hundreds of strollers, read customer reviews and spoke to parents about their favorite models. We also considered the following criteria:
Fits Through Theme Park Entrances
Some parks say that strollers smaller than a specific width won’t be allowed on rides or into attractions because they could get in the way of other guests or park operations.
In our research, we looked for strollers that were designed specifically to meet Disney’s size guidelines (which are similar to those used by other theme parks). It was especially important that a stroller fit through the turnstiles at Disney World because you’re required to leave them outside the gates while visiting the park.
Durable
We looked for strollers made with materials that could withstand years of wear and tear—especially since you have to drag them all over Disney parks—and can be easily repaired if something breaks during your vacation.
